Purposeful escape. Honest connection. Encouragement to seek God‘s truth on every path. A workout for the heart. A reason to laugh – sometimes at ourselves. Permission to enjoy the journey. And a reminder that we are never alone – Jesus takes every step with us. It’s all here.

“Though he may stumble, he will not fall,
for the Lord upholds him with His hand.”
Psalm 37:24

Welcome!
The last place I would expect to find myself is on the pages of a website. But you are here, so I know I’m exactly where God wants me to be.
I wrote my first book when I was eight. It was a whopping ten pages and was received with critical acclaim—my mother loved it! For as long as I can remember, I’ve had a pen in my hand and a passion in my heart to find words that breathe life into the wonder around me.
My husband and I live in a red brick house on a hill. Our three children are grown with families of their own, but the home where they were raised still rings with chaos and laughter whenever we are all together.
Like family, God created us to walk through life in the company of others. Supporting, sharpening, and affirming each other along the way.
In a world where we often struggle to find our footing, I’d love to offer you a soft place to fall, a friend to lift you up, and encouragement in God’s faithfulness as we walk together with Him.

When Our Best Is Not Good Enough
“Do your best.” We say it like it’s a panacea for everything. A magic phrase that will somehow validate our efforts and make all come right. True, this encouragement has its place. For children headed off to school or onto the soccer field. For that job interview. For anyone stepping out of their element and attempting…

Bumps, Bruises, Stains, and Scratches: The Scars That Make Life Worth Living- A Marriage Story
Well, we did it again—but we are NOT getting old. Just a little beat up and more decorated with the zest of life than we were twenty years ago. At present, you would find us the walking (and limping) wounded. The giant bruise on my husband’s forehead makes quite the statement. It is the battle…
